How YourCA works, step by step.

How does the calendar work?

What it does today

Hold and witness points, tickets, company certificates and your dated action items show from 30 days before. They do not show for the full six months that claim days cover. They come from the same list your notifications come from, and that list looks 30 days ahead. For dates further out, open Site, the crew under Schedule, or the company library on Prestart.

  1. It fills from your own job.
  2. It shows each date on the month it falls in: the claim days of your contract, the statutory dates around a payment claim, the notice deadline of each variation, the days your retention comes back, and the time bars the contract review read from your clauses.
  3. If YourCA cannot work out a date, it lists the date under the month with the missing input. It never shows a guess.
  4. Claim days show six months ahead and no further.
  5. If you page past that, the month tells you so. It does not say nothing is due, because a claim day YourCA has not worked out is still a claim day you have.
  6. Inside those six months, an empty month with nothing in the list under it does mean nothing falls due.
  7. Each item on that list also says what it costs to miss it, in the words of the clause it came from.
  8. If retention is waiting, it says how much the job still holds. A day you cannot fill in is easy to leave until next week. The amount behind it usually is not.
  9. Each item on that list has a link to where you answer it, and the places differ.
  10. The state of the job and the date the contract was entered into are asked under Statutory facts, at the top of the same list.
  11. A term of your contract is answered on the Contract tab, under Your commercial terms. A release that waits on practical completion links directly to Handover.
  12. Retention releases show on the month after practical completion is certified. Each shows the clause the split came from, and what is still out on it.
  13. Until that certificate is recorded, they are in the list under the month, and they say so.
  14. A question you raised shows on the day you said you needed an answer by.
  15. The square says the date is your own and cites no clause, because you set it when you raised the question.
  16. Only questions that actually wait on an answer show. A draft is not asked yet. An answered question is done, whatever its date said. A question replaced by a revision shows through that revision.
  17. The row takes you to the RFIs on the Documents tab.
  18. A long-lead item shows on the last day you can order it and still have it on site when the job needs it.
  19. The square shows the lead time and the need-by date it was counted back from, so you can check the arithmetic. It goes after the order goes in.
  20. If you miss that date, you lose programme time, not an entitlement. That is why it looks different from a notice deadline.
  21. Four more kinds come from the same list your notifications come from, so the bell and the month cannot disagree about them.
  22. They are: a ticket that runs out on a person in your crew, a company certificate such as your insurance that runs out, a hold or witness point that falls due, and your own action items with a due date.
  23. Each shows from 30 days before, or from the lead you set on an inspection point. A lapsed ticket or certificate stays for 30 days after it runs out.
  24. A ticket or certificate belongs to your business. So it shows on the month of every job, marked Your business.
  25. An action item shows only on the month of the person whose list it is on. Its row opens the item on your list, and you stay on the Calendar.
  26. Every date on the month shows the clause, or the section of the Act, it came from.
  27. Filter, beside Subscribe at the top right, chooses which kinds of date show.
  28. It opens a list of every kind with its colour, so it is also the key to the month. It shows how many of each fall in the month you are on.
  29. Untick a kind to hide it from the month and the list under it. Or press Every kind of date to show or hide them all at once. While any kind is hidden, the button says how many.
  30. Sometimes the state on the job and the state named in the contract are different. Then the Calendar says so above the month.
  31. YourCA counts the dates under the state of the job, because security of payment follows where the work is. It names both states, so you can change the job if the site is really in the other state.
  32. It shows one job at a time: the job the switcher is on.
  33. All projects is a filter on the Dash, Quote, Procurement, Financials and Reports only. To see the month of another job, switch to that job.
Worth knowing

A date is shown or it is listed. It is never guessed. Inside the six months of claim days, an empty month with nothing in the list under it means nothing falls due. That is different from nothing having been read. Past six months, the month says the dates are not worked out.
