How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I chase an aged debtor?

  1. Open Reports, then Waiting on builders, Claims owed. Each claim is one row. A claim past its due date has a More press, the three dots, at the end of its row.
  2. Press More, then Download and draft a chase. YourCA saves the statement of what is outstanding on that job as a Word document, on your own letterhead.
  3. Then it opens a draft in your own mail client. The draft names the claim, its job, the amount still owed, the due date and how many days late it is.
  4. The draft is addressed to the builder from the job record. Attach the statement from your downloads, read the draft, and send it yourself.
  5. If your email is webmail in a browser, pick Copy the chase from the same menu instead. Paste the letter into a new email.
  6. A notice then says who the draft is addressed to and that nothing is sent. If the statement did not download, the draft does not open. Press it again in a moment.
  7. With no address for the builder on the job, the notice says so, and you address the draft yourself.
Worth knowing

YourCA sends nothing and does not look for the reply. The chase is a draft in your own mail, and the statement is a file on your own computer.
