How do I get the assistant to set things up?
- The assistant can set up these things with you: your business details, a person on your crew and a new job.
- On a job you have open, it can also file its head contract, or the payment schedule the builder sent back against your claim.
- Say what you want in your own words. "I want to start a new job" is enough.
- You do not need to know this before you start.
- Open the assistant. The first screen lists what it can set up for you, above the questions it can answer. Press one and it starts to ask.
- If there is nothing left to ask, it says so and does not start a conversation.
- For example, if you ask it to set up business details that are already in, it tells you they are in and where to change them. It does not show you an empty card with a button on it.
- The assistant asks one question at a time. Answer in the box the way you would answer a person.
- If the answer is one of a short list, such as the state the work is in or the role of a crew member, the choices show as buttons. Press one.
- On a wide screen, the real fields are beside the conversation. They fill in as you answer, so you can see what the assistant made of each answer when you gave it.
- On a narrow screen there is no room for the column. Instead, a count above the box opens the same list when you press it.
- Each answer also shows again in your own message, with the field it went into. If you skipped a field, it shows what a blank costs.
- Press any of those lines to answer that question again.
- The assistant drops what it held for that field, asks you in the conversation, and then continues from where it was. So if you fix the first answer of six, it costs you one question, not five.
- When every question is answered, the list moves aside and the card takes over. Press a line on the card to do the same thing.
- The assistant asks for what the screen that owns the record asks for.
- For a person on your crew, that is their name, their role, how they are engaged, their trade, their mobile and their email. The form also takes their suburb and pay grade, which you set there.
- Only the name is required. One word skips any of the others.
- They sign in to YourCA on their own phone with their email address, the same way as you. So if you leave that out, they cannot sign in yet.
- If your business details are not in yet, the assistant asks for those first and tells you why.
- They go on every claim, notice and certificate the job makes. It asks only for the ones that are actually missing.
- At the end, the assistant shows you all your answers on one card.
- Nothing is saved until you press the button on it. So you can go back and change anything first.
- After it is filed, the assistant tells you where it went.
- You can still edit everything the assistant filled in, on the screen that owns it. So nothing is locked in a conversation.
Worth knowing
The assistant does not fill a field from something else you told it. For example, if you say the site is in Caringbah, that does not tell it which state your security of payment rules come from. That depends on where the work is carried out, and you decide it. If you leave it unsaid, YourCA tells you which dates it cannot work out. It does not cite the wrong state.
