How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I put a whole crew on a job?

  1. The controls appear on a crew of twelve or more. On a smaller crew the week grid is already easy to read, and the controls would only be in the way.
  2. If it helps, narrow the list first: one job, one trade role, one suburb, or type a name.
  3. On a phone, those filters are behind the Filter press at the top of the week, because four boxes across a phone make each box one letter wide.
  4. The suburb filter is there because you send the people who live near the job.
  5. Press Roster a group. Choose the job, the first and last day, and which weekdays. It starts with Monday to Friday, because that is the working week.
  6. Tick who is going. The list shows whoever the filters left. So pick the trade and the area first, then the people.
  7. Press Roster them. The hours come from the job's own shift. If the job has none, they come from your standard hours. This is the same as when you fill one cell.
  8. It never changes a day you already decided. It lists anything it left alone, with the reason, so you can see what it did.
Worth knowing

If a person is already recorded as not working on a day, YourCA skips that day and does not overwrite it. This stops you putting somebody on a job on a day of annual leave. In bulk, that mistake would happen twelve at a time. YourCA never marks work the builder directed in bulk either. That is a fact about one day that somebody saw. If one press set it across two weeks of rows nobody looked at, it would put a lot of raw material for variations on the record.
