Who do I serve the claim on?
- Press Directory in the menu down the left. On a phone or a narrower screen, it is in your account menu instead. It opens over your work and closes again without losing your place.
- The builder’s people is the last section, after Your business, Who runs this job and Who you have engaged. Each person shows their name, their role on this job, their company, and their recorded email and phone number.
- They are listed in the order they were recorded, so the head contractor you added first is at the top.
- A detail nobody recorded shows as a blank, with the reason beside it. YourCA never fills one in from the usual contact of the company. A notice served on the wrong address can be the same as a notice never served.
- It shows who they are on THIS job. The same builder puts a different contract administrator on a different job, so choose the job in the switcher first.
- On a new account with no job yet, the section says so. It does not show an empty list.
- If nobody is there yet, or somebody is new on the job, press Add somebody from the builder. The fields open under the list. The section stays a list of who to phone until you ask for the fields.
- Enter who they work for, their role on this job, and their name, email and phone.
- For the head contractor, who they work for is already filled in with the builder this job names. As you type, it offers the builders you already work with. Press Record them on this job.
- Add as many people as the job needs, one after another. The fields stay open and clear themselves. So the contract administrator, the site manager and the certifier take three presses, not three trips back to this panel.
- Press Cancel to close the fields.
- YourCA tells two people at one firm apart by their email addresses. Give the second person their own address. Do not leave it blank.
- To take somebody off, press Take off this job on their row. It changes nothing already served on them: their name stays on the claim that went to them in March.
- To correct the firm itself, with its company name and main phone number, go to Company admin, under Who you work with, then Clients. Every job you use them on shares that record.
- You set the person you deal with here instead. The person at that firm for this job is often not the one their company record names.
- The firms that work under you are not in this section. They are in Who you have engaged, above it, because YourCA checks their paperwork for the declaration you sign.
Worth knowing
If YourCA cannot read the list, the panel says so. An empty list means nobody is recorded on this job. YourCA never shows the two with the same sentence. To record somebody, you need the same permission as for rostering, so a foreman can read the list but cannot change it.
