How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I mark a line as included rather than pricing it?

  1. On a quote line, or on a row of a variation’s build-up, use the Priced column.
  2. A price is the ordinary line. It behaves as it always has.
  3. Included says your current charges already cover the item. The item has its own line. Its price is in another line, or in the section’s own figure at the foot.
  4. Excluded says the item is not in your price at all. The line stays on the document, so the builder reads the carve-out where they are looking.
  5. Either choice takes the rate and the amount off that line. A line states a figure or it states words, never both.
Worth knowing

An excluded LINE is not the same as your exclusions list at the foot of the quote. YourCA does not copy it into the list, on purpose. The line names one item where the builder already reads. The list holds the carve-outs for the whole job. Put the most important one in both, in your own words, as you would on paper.
