How do I quote the same job to two builders?
- Open the quote you already priced. Find Who this scope is priced for, under the sections.
- Press Quote another builder. Pick the builder from the ones you already work with, or type a new one.
- Say whether their price is the same as this one, or has a different margin.
- YourCA copies the whole scope: every section, every line, every cost build up, every exclusion and every drawing you priced against. It arrives as a draft with its own quote number and its own revision chain.
- Change their price by changing the MARGIN, not a line. That is what the margin row is for. It also proves that the second builder reads the same scope as the first.
- The band above shows every quote on that scope side by side: the builder, the revision, its status, the margin and the date it went out.
Worth knowing
Each builder holds a real document with its own number. That is the number they quote back to you on the phone. Each one has its own issue date and its own revision letters. You can copy a draft as easily as an issued quote. A copy writes a new quote and changes nothing the first builder holds.
