How YourCA works, step by step.

What is the morning email?

  1. It goes to the address you sign in with, once a day, at 6am. You can pick 7, 8 or 9am instead. There is nothing to switch on and nothing to set up.
  2. Choose how often it comes on the Notifications section of Settings, under Your morning email: Every morning, Mondays only, or Never.
  3. Mondays only sends only the Monday email, which looks across the week ahead.
  4. Never stops the morning email and the Monday email, including its What you are owed part. Everything stays on the bell.
  5. What time sets the hour it arrives: 6, 7, 8 or 9am Sydney time.
  6. Whatever you pick, an item set to arrive straight away still alerts your phone when it is raised, if you turned on Alert me on this device.
  7. It carries every job you are on in one message, grouped job by job, with the worst job first. Inside each job, it shows the most overdue thing first, then the item closest to its due date.
  8. Almost all of it is the same set of lines the bell already shows you, collected.
  9. On a morning with nothing due, it does not arrive at all. That is deliberate, not a fault. If an email comes every day whatever is on it, you stop opening it. Then you miss the one with a lapsing notice.
  10. It is one email a day, never one for each event. On a long morning, it carries the most urgent lines and says how many more wait on each job. Open YourCA for the rest. You do not need to scroll a page you cannot finish.
  11. Almost every line is an item with a date. These include a claim day coming up, a notice window closing, a payment schedule due back, a payment that has not arrived and an inspection point due.
  12. They also include a question the builder has not answered, retention falling due, an order that has to go out, a licence about to expire, and anything dated on your own list.
  13. On a won job still missing the contract or order, the drawings or the programme, it asks you to get them from the builder. It asks once a week for the first six weeks of the job.
  14. The one exception is the correspondence line. It says how many emails are unopened on a job, and what the oldest of them looks like.
  15. It has no date, because an email is not a deadline. It is the same sentence for everybody on the account, not yours alone. It is not on the bell, and it has no switch.
  16. It only goes with a message that was going out anyway. On a morning with nothing else due, there is no message for it to go with.
  17. One kind is left out on purpose. A contract version that is replaced stays on the bell. Nothing on it lapses, and it asks you to open the terms and read them.
  18. On a Monday, this email does not come for anyone who gets Falling due this week in their Monday email. That email goes at the same hour, with everything falling due on your jobs in the next seven days, not what happened yesterday. So you are not told the same thing twice in one morning.
  19. Falling due this week is one row in the list: Monday email: what falls due this week. It is yours alone. If you turn it off, your Monday goes back to this daily email.
  20. Each kind has its own choice on the Notifications section of Settings, and each row says which channels carry it.
  21. Straight away also alerts your phone when the item is raised, if you turned on Alert me on this device. It still comes in this email. Morning email waits for this email. Off stops both the bell line and its place in the email.
  22. To stop part of the email, set that kind to Off.
  23. To stop it completely, set How often, under Your morning email, to Never. That stops the Monday email too.
  24. The kinds below it still decide what is on the bell. Items set to arrive straight away still alert your phone if you turned alerts on. A single line never comes to you as an email of its own.
  25. Turning a kind off stops the line, not the deadline. The claim day, the notice window and the release date are all still there, and the register still shows them.
  26. It is yours. Each person on the account sets their own, and your choices change nothing for anybody else in the office.
  27. The notice deadlines on a contract review are a separate switch and a separate email. Turn them on from the review itself. They go out 7 days before each dated deadline and again the day before, whatever you set here.
Worth knowing

It goes to you and to nobody else. YourCA never emails a builder, a supplier or anybody outside your account about your deadlines. No setting turns that on.
