How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I add a site allowance?

  1. Open company settings. Press Rates, then Pay grades. Allowances is the section under your pay rules.
  2. Give the allowance the name your people know from a payslip.
  3. Pick whether it is worth that amount for every hour worked or for every day worked. Type the amount.
  4. To pay everybody, leave Who gets it blank. To pay only one grade, enter that pay grade's name.
  5. Tick the superannuation box only if that allowance counts toward ordinary time earnings. Most do not, so it starts unticked. Check the award, agreement or contract that covers your people.
  6. Press Add the allowance. Every pay period you open after that pays it, with its own column on the table and its own figure beside the gross.
  7. Press The days on a person to see what each allowance came to and what it was paid on.
  8. For rostered days off, set Rostered day off accrues in the pay rules above. It is the hours banked for each ordinary day worked. The award puts it at 0.4 hours where a 38-hour week is worked as 40. If you do not work them, leave it at zero.
  9. The Pay section then shows, per person, what this period accrued and what was taken in it. Both are on the printed run.
Worth knowing

The accrual reads one period. It is not a balance. Nothing carries forward from one period to the next, and YourCA holds no entitlement anywhere. So YourCA cannot tell you how many days somebody banked overall. If you change or remove an allowance, that changes what the NEXT period comes to. A period you already approved keeps what it paid.
