How YourCA works, step by step.

Where do my standard exclusions live?

  1. Open company admin from your account and press Terms.
  2. Start a set and name it. If the set is for one trade, say which trade.
  3. Add entries under exclusions, clarifications, inclusions, warranty or conditions.
  4. The same page holds the terms printed on every payment claim you export. Both are the same kind of thing: words you type once against your business, printed on every job.
  5. If your business has exactly one saved set, a new quote starts with it already under Exclusions and clarifications.
  6. If you have two or more sets, open Exclusions and clarifications on the quote. Press Pull in beside the set you want. You get a copy. Edit it, delete from it and add to it on that quote. The library does not change.
  7. If another quote on this job already has the right terms, use the same row. It offers Copy from Quote for each quote, and says how many terms come across. They go after any terms already there. YourCA does not copy a term twice if this quote already has it word for word.
  8. It is a copy on purpose. If you edit your library next month, that must never change the terms on a quote a builder already holds. An issued revision is frozen anyway.
  9. Each copied entry remembers the library entry it came from. You can trace the wording back to the set it was written in.
Worth knowing

Only an administrator can write a set, because the wording goes out on every quote your business sends after that. YourCA suggests no wording and checks none of it. An exclusion decides who pays for a variation, and that is your commercial position, not ours. YourCA stores exclusions as separate one line entries, not one block of text, because a variation later cites one of them by name.
