How do I put bullet points in a description?
You get bold, italic, underline and bullets, and nothing else. There are no headings, colours, links or tables. If anybody could invent the formatting, no export could promise to reproduce it. On a quote line and on each of those notes, the formatting prints: the PDF and the Word file draw it exactly as you wrote it. The spreadsheet writes the same words plainly, because nobody can sort or filter a cell of mixed weights. Anything more on a variation prints on the variation you export for the builder’s approval.
- These are boxes you write in, not fields you fill in: Anything more on a variation, the scope on a quote line, and what an option offers on the Options section.
- Select the words. Press B for bold, I for italic or U for underline.
- The marks combine, so a standard can be italic and underlined at once. A button is lit while the caret is in text with that mark, so it shows what a press undoes.
- Press Bullets to start a list. Press Enter for the next item.
- When you paste from an email or a website, you get the words but never that page’s formatting.
- On a quote, what you write is what the builder reads. The quotation carries all of it into the PDF and the Word file.
- Anything more on a variation prints too. It sits under the line that says what the work is, on the variation you export from its row for the builder’s approval.
- The same applies to the notes that print on a document: the note on a claim, the builder’s reasons on their payment schedule, an RFI’s question and answer, what the builder said about a submittal, what was done about a non-conformance, the notes on an inspection point, what happened on a delay and what you are going by, and a safe work method statement’s scope of work.
Everything else reads the plain wording: your claim, the spreadsheet, the search box and this assistant. So a description always says the same thing in every place, even where that place cannot draw the bold.
