How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I add my logo?

What it does today

A detail you have not recorded is a labelled ruled space on the document, like a blank on any form. Your builder sees which one is missing, and you can write it in by hand. YourCA never prints the REASON it is blank on the page, because that is about your records, not the claim. The screen says it beside the export, where you can still fix it. On a letter, a missing detail is simply absent, as on any letterhead.

  1. Fill in the business fields once. Every certificate, claim pack and statement reads them from here, and does not ask again.
  2. YourCA stores them against your business, not the computer you typed them on. Fill them in at the office, and a certificate you produce on the site phone carries the same name, ABN, address, phone, licence and signatory. If you clear your browser, you do not lose them.
  3. Fill in what you have, and come back for the rest. Only the legal business name is required, because a legal entity signs everything you sign.
  4. If you filled these in on one computer a while ago and they never reached your account, the screen says so at the top and offers to save them. Before you press, it names the business the saved details belong to. It never saves them on its own.
  5. That is on purpose. A shared computer can hold somebody else's details. You cannot take back the wrong business on a payment claim you already served.
  6. Until you press it, those details still print on documents you make on that computer, and your other devices show an empty form. The press makes them the same everywhere.
  7. YourCA checks your ABN against the Australian Business Register's own algorithm before it stores it. Type it as you print it, with spaces or without.
  8. If the ABN does not pass, YourCA says so under that field and keeps everything else you typed. Store the rest and come back to the ABN.
  9. Your logo goes onto every document YourCA writes. These come out on your letterhead, with your business name, ABN, address, contact and licence: the payment claim, the statutory declaration, the notice of intention, the request for substantiation, the retention statement, the certificates, the handover pack, the safe work method statement, the prestart pack contents page, the site diary extract, the photo schedule, the inspection and test plan and the non-conformance report.
  10. So do the contract documents: the risk review, the pushback letter, the redline, the brief for your solicitor, the signing checklist, the negotiation outcomes and both notices, the notice of variation and the notice of delay and extension of time.
  11. YourCA puts no mark of its own on any of them, because they go out in your name, not ours.
  12. Drop the logo in whatever form you have. A PNG, a JPEG, a GIF or a WebP all work, including one you save straight from your own website. YourCA converts it so it prints the same in Word, in a PDF and on screen.
  13. YourCA does not take a design file such as an SVG. Ask whoever made your logo for a PNG.
  14. If your business trades under a different name from the entity on your ABN, record both. Documents print the legal entity first, because that party carries the liability on a claim or a declaration. Your trading name prints under it as trading as, so the builder still sees the name they know.
  15. Set your company up is one list on two screens: your Dash, above the brief, and Company admin. The same code draws the same list, so the two never disagree. You can finish every row except connecting your books without leaving the screen you are on.
  16. The list goes for good when every row is done or skipped. Until then, you can skip one row, or hide the list for a week on one screen. That leaves it on the other screen.
  17. Two places take a logo: that Dash list and the company admin screen. Both file it against your business record. So it makes no difference which you use, and every device you sign in on prints the same letterhead.
  18. Either way, the browser you added it in also keeps a copy. YourCA uses that copy only where your business record holds no logo. It is also what still prints when you have no signal.
  19. The signature beside it works the same way. YourCA stores it against your account, from either screen. So it follows the person who signs, not the laptop they drew it on. It prints above their name in the signature block.
  20. If either one cannot reach your account, the screen says so and keeps the mark in that browser. It does not imply that the account holds it.
Worth knowing

Your crew and their tickets are not on this screen. They are under Your crew on the Schedule tab, because the roster, the sign-on sheet and the generated documents read that list.
