Is YourCA responsible for my swms?
- YourCA drafted the statement from the tasks you typed and from what the job already holds. It is not safety advice, and it is not a safety approval.
- YourCA does not certify that anything on it is correct, complete or enough for your work. It does not check that anybody on site follows it. Nobody here has seen your site.
- These are your tasks: read it against the real job, put the controls in place before work starts, and make sure people follow them. You also decide if the method suits this building on this day.
- The document says this in full at its foot. So a builder or an insurer who reads the statement knows the same thing you do.
- Before it issues, the screen asks you to confirm that you read it. That prompt is on the screen, not in the record. What stands behind the statement is the declaration printed on it and your signature on the approval block, not the press.
- Each approval block comes out blank, including yours. YourCA applies nobody's signature to a safety approval. A signature on one is the whole approval, and nothing here can prove who is at the keyboard.
- The contract review works the same way. YourCA gives you a first pass to work from, and the person who signs carries the decision.
Worth knowing
This applies to copied statements as much as to new ones. A method copied from a job you ran last year came from your own head. Nobody checked it against this site. That is why each hazard on the copy arrives marked as a draft nobody has read yet.
