How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I set up a tools register?

  1. Press Assets in the side menu, under Directory. On a phone it is in your account menu.
  2. Press Add an asset. Pick the kind first: tool, plant, vehicle or equipment.
  3. The usual checks for that kind come ticked, with a cycle you set yourself: test and tag every 3 months for a tool, for example. Change the cycle or the first due day, or untick a check.
  4. Rego and insurance are due on the date on the paper, so enter that date.
  5. Say where it is: the yard, a job or one of your people. Press Add it.
  6. To move it, press More on its row, then Move it.
  7. When a check is done, press the tick on its row in Due, or More, then Record a check. The next due day moves on by that cycle, counted from the day it was done.
  8. If it failed, say what happened: tagged out, sent for repair or retired. YourCA puts it back in the yard unless you untick that.
  9. To take one out of use, press More, then Retire it, with the day and why. It stays on the list with its history.
Worth knowing

A wrong record is never deleted. Record it again with the right day, and the old one shows as put right. The cost of an asset shows only to a role that can see the figures.
