How do I connect myob?
Connecting is not open yet for MYOB or Xero. Both are built and tested, but neither is tested end to end against a real account. They stay shut, so a customer is not the first to find a problem. Nothing else on a claim waits on it: building, serving, the payment schedule, retention and the claim history all work today. When it opens, it is one press on this screen, under Company admin, Plan, then Connections. You connect one accounting system at a time, not both. YourCA refuses MYOB while Xero is connected, and the screen names Xero so you know what to disconnect. QuickBooks and all other accounting packages do not connect at all: Xero and MYOB are the two.
- Open Company admin from your account menu, then Plan, then Connections. Only an office administrator sees it, because a MYOB connection lets YourCA write into the business books.
- Read the MYOB row. It says Not open yet, and it has no Connect button. A button that refuses looks like a broken product, not an honest one.
- When connecting opens, press Connect to MYOB. One screen says exactly what YourCA writes into your books and what it reads. Tick it. YourCA records that tick with a version, so you can later show what you agreed to.
- Continue to MYOB and sign in. YourCA asks for four permissions and no more: create sales documents, and read your customers, your accounts and your tax codes. No payroll, no banking, no purchases.
- Back in YourCA, the row says one step left. Choose your company file.
- Give the user name and password of the file itself. That is the one you type when you open the file inside MYOB, not your MYOB sign in.
- YourCA tests those details before it stores them. So a wrong password fails here, not on the day you serve a claim. YourCA stores the password encrypted, and deletes it when you disconnect.
- To stop it, press Disconnect on the same row. Everything already in your MYOB stays there.
MYOB asks for that second password because its own interface needs it on every request, not because YourCA wants it. If the business does not want to store it with us, Xero needs no equivalent and is the better connection for you.
