How do I connect xero?
Connecting Xero is not open yet. Both halves are built and tested, but neither is tested end to end against a real Xero account. It stays shut, so a customer is not the first to find a problem. Nothing else on a claim waits on it: building, serving, the payment schedule, retention and the claim history all work today. When it opens, it is one press on this screen, under Company admin, Plan, then Connections. What it unlocks happens on the job, where a served claim carries a Xero panel in Financials. Ask "how do I get my claim into Xero" for that half.
- Open Company admin from your account menu, then Plan, then Connections. Only an office administrator sees it, because a Xero connection lets YourCA write into the business books.
- Read the Xero row. It says Not open yet, and it has no Connect button. A button that refuses looks like a broken product, not an honest one.
- When connecting opens, press Connect to Xero. One screen says exactly what YourCA writes into your books and what it reads. Tick it. YourCA records that tick with a version, so you can later show what you agreed to.
- Continue to Xero and sign in there. Choose the organisation.
- Xero lists eight permissions, and YourCA asks for no more. Four are the sign in itself and reach no record of yours. The other four are the work: create invoices and credit notes, and read the payments against them, your contacts, and your account codes and tax rates.
- Back in YourCA, the row says Connected and names the Xero organisation.
- To stop it, press Disconnect on the same row. Or remove YourCA in Xero under Settings, then Connected Apps. Everything already in your Xero stays there. Disconnecting is never closed, whatever else is, so nobody with a connection is stuck with it.
Every invoice YourCA creates is a DRAFT. That is a rule, not a stage. Xero cannot email a draft, and YourCA never approves one. So nothing reaches your builder unless you approve it and send it yourself. The same rule governs the claim itself.
