How do I enter my schedule of rates?
The drop reads a CSV, a spreadsheet, a PDF and a Word file. It cannot read a photograph of a quote or a scan. Those hold a picture of the page, not the text, and YourCA has no reader for an image. It says so, and asks for the original the scan was made from. If your schedule has a quantity and a rate column, YourCA keeps both and shows them under the line, with the unit. If it is not clear which column is which, YourCA leaves them off and does not guess. The line still carries its amount. Your claim is always made against the amount. YourCA reads it from the amount column of your own quote. It never multiplies the quantity by the rate, because the builder holds a copy of that quote and the two must agree. A claim made only of variations assembles fine with no lines at all.
- Open Financials, then Claims, then Contract lines, beside Month by month. You set it once for the job, not per claim. So it sits with the pills that read the whole job, ahead of the claim's own steps.
- On a job with no claims yet, the Claims section offers Set the contract lines first. So you can set the schedule before the first claim exists.
- Bring in your priced items lists the quotes you already priced on this job, if any. If you accept one on the Quote tab, it writes this schedule for you, line for line. So you never type the scope twice for a job you quoted in YourCA.
- If you priced the quote somewhere else, drop in the quote you gave the builder, or a spreadsheet, or paste the rows straight in. Nobody types forty lines.
- YourCA reads the description and the amount from each row. Where your schedule has them, it also reads the quantity, unit and rate behind that amount.
- Check what it read. Each line it could not read comes back with its row and the reason. Nothing saves until you press to confirm.
- Add the odd line by hand on the register afterwards.
- A claim then works out what is left to claim on each line. You do not total it yourself.
