How do I change a variation status?
- Approval status is how far it got with the builder. Press it to see the steps still open on that row: notice given, put it to the builder, they approved it, they knocked it back, drop it.
- Put it to the builder saves on the press, dated today, because that is your own act. The other steps open a short form under the row. A builder’s decision carries the day they made it and what they agreed, and YourCA cannot guess either.
- The work shows how far the work itself has got. It saves on the press. The line under the row then says what it did to your next claim.
- The row offers only what it can do. After the builder decides, the row stops offering to record a decision. After a claim carries the variation, the row stops offering to put it to the builder. A role without the figures sees nothing that sets a figure. The one step that is greyed, not hidden, says why on the same line: price it first.
- A row with nothing left to change shows plain text, not a control, and says why underneath: a claim carried it, or your role does not change it. Two rows that both read Approved can be in different positions. This is where you see which.
Worth knowing
The current status shows as the label, and is never one of the choices. Nothing changes until you pick a different one. If the step opens a form, nothing is written until you save it. The information mark on the column heading explains all of it in one place.
