How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I say a variation is finished?

  1. Press The work on the variation row and pick one. It saves on the press. The line under the row says what it did to your next claim.
  2. Finished puts the whole approved amount on your next claim. Not started puts nothing on it. Under way waits for you to enter how much on the claim itself.
  3. The first time you mark it finished from the row, YourCA dates it today. It keeps a day you already recorded, so a move back to under way and then to finished does not quietly change the date.
  4. If it finished before today, press What to do with it, then How far the work has got. Set the day there. That day decides which claim the work lands on, because work finished after a claim reference date belongs on the next claim.
  5. If you leave it alone, that is also an answer. It means nobody has said, and YourCA claims an approved variation in full. That is what happens if you never open this.
Worth knowing

This is a different question from whether the builder approved it. A variation can be approved and not started, or finished and still unanswered by them. The two columns say different things, and both matter.
