How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I set a budget for a job?

  1. Open Financials, then Margin, and pick Budget on the row under the band.
  2. Each job has one row. Press the pencil to open Budget for the job.
  3. There are five lines: Labour and super, Materials and orders, Plant and hire, Firms you engaged, and Other costs. Type each as an amount, ex GST, or leave it blank.
  4. Fill from the quote puts in what the accepted quote’s cost build-up says for each line. Change any of them, then press Save.
  5. The reading shows each line against what it has cost so far, and the share of the budget used. A cost priced per unit on the quote moves with the takeoff, so the budget does too.
  6. The Financial dash on Reports carries a Budget against cost card across every job.
