How do I use the keyboard shortcut?
- The forward slash key opens Search. Cmd K (Ctrl K on Windows) does the same, even from inside a box.
- In Search, Enter opens the top row. The up and down arrows move down the rows first.
- n presses the main button on the band at the top of the screen, such as Raise a question for the builder on the RFIs section.
- j moves down the rows of a list and k moves up. The row you are on is outlined.
- Enter opens the row you are on, the same as pressing it. Press Enter again to close it.
- e opens the menu at the end of that row: More, the three dots, or the pencil. Where that menu has only one thing to do, e does it.
- Esc closes whatever is on top, such as a form or Search.
- On the roster week and the calendar month, the arrow keys move from one day to the next.
- In a menu, such as the one under your name, the up and down arrows move between its items. Home and End go to the first and the last. Esc closes it.
- The first press of Tab shows Skip to the page. Press Enter on it to go past the menu.
- The question mark key shows this list in a sheet. Press Close or Esc to put it away.
Worth knowing
No key does anything while you are typing in a box, a drop-down or a note, so a letter always lands where you typed it. Holding Cmd, Ctrl or Alt turns the keys off too, so the browser keeps its own.
