How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I open a procurement line?

  1. Press the arrow at the end of a line, or any part of the line that is not an editable cell. The line's panel opens beside the register.
  2. Supplier and status holds the company, their email, the status of the order, and Follow up.
  3. If you set the status here, it opens the same list of badges as the badge on the row. There is one status, and one place it is written from.
  4. Programme and dates holds the activity this line feeds, the lead time and the on site by date.
  5. If you link an activity, the date comes from the builder programme and moves when the programme moves. So there is no date field to type over it.
  6. Reminders is directly under those dates, because YourCA counts each reminder back from the order-by date in the band above.
  7. It holds the three lead times for this line, and pause. You set once for your whole account if YourCA tells you about ordering at all, under Settings then Notifications.
  8. What this line is holds the picture, the description, the quantity, the unit, the code, the specs, the colour or finish and the shop drawings. Put one spec on each line.
  9. Everything else is closed when the panel opens. It holds the order reference and the cost, the quotes you compared, your files, your note, who buys the line, and how to move it to another section.
  10. You read or file these items, and do not work on them. So they are below the four bands you work in.
  11. More, at the foot of the panel, holds Snooze and Archive this item. On an archived line it holds Bring this back.
  12. Under your files, Attach file asks for the file first.
  13. YourCA reads it and proposes what it is. A photo is a delivery photo. For other files, the file name and then the words in it decide: quote, order document, invoice or receipt.
  14. If the kind is wrong, change it. Then press Attach. If nothing tells YourCA the kind, it asks you to pick one.
  15. The switch that makes YourCA write each chase for a supplier is not on the line. It is a setting on the supplier, so it applies to every line of theirs on every job.
  16. Under Suppliers, press the pencil on their row. Remind me with a draft chase is under the row, after they have an email.
Worth knowing

There is no longer a separate tick for arrived and checked on site. Delivered is the whole of arrival, and it is the status. So the row and the panel cannot disagree about whether the material arrived.
