How do I mark up a drawing for my claim?
- Open the claim, then the Progress plan pill. It comes after Claim detail and before Declaration.
- Open the drawing list and press Add a drawing. Pick one from this job's Documents tab, or upload one. A claim can use more than one drawing, and the same list moves between drawings and pages.
- Open Mark up and pick Draw a box, then drag across an area. Or pick Draw an outline and press each corner, then the first corner again to close it. Each shape is a zone. Name it, and add the floor area if you split a line by area.
- A zone drawn inside an empty zone sits under it. The larger zone then shows the total of the zones in it.
- Under Line values by zone, press Split on a line. Split it by floor area, or type an amount for each zone. The line is claimed from its zones only when the shares add up to the line's value to the cent.
- Under Percent complete, type the percent complete to date of each zone, in whole numbers. The claim works out each line to the cent and puts it on the claim. On Claim detail, that line then shows From the plan.
- Each zone is shaded across as far as its percent complete. Grey is work claimed on earlier claims, ochre is work on this claim, and red is work taken back. The outline colour shows how complete it is.
- Press Marked drawings to download the shaded drawings with a zone index, as a PDF or Word file. The claim pack also adds them after the claim, as evidence.
- Your next claim opens with this markup and these percentages. Change only the zones that moved, or press Keep claim N's figures to use them all as they are.
- To change the markup, press a zone to rename it, drag a corner to reshape it, or delete it. Clear this sheet, under Mark up, takes every zone off the page so you can draw it again.
- Skip this step if you do not need it. If the claim used the plan, Take the plan off this claim removes its percentages, and each line keeps its figure.
Worth knowing
After you serve a claim, its markup is fixed as it went out, and a split that claim used can no longer change. A percentage below the last claim reduces the claim, so check any red zone before you approve.
