Can the assistant read the payment schedule?
- Open the job first. A payment schedule answers one served claim. So the assistant first asks which job it is on, and does not take the document without one.
- Press Ask, in the corner of the screen, to open the assistant. Tell it the builder answered your claim.
- It asks which of your served claims they answered. It offers only claims you actually served.
- On the demonstration account, before you send anything, it says it cannot read a document there. The reading happens on the server, and that account is read only. On your own account, it reads what you send.
- Then it asks for their document. Drop the payment schedule onto the panel, choose the file, or paste their email into the box under the drop. Most people paste, because that is how these arrive.
- It reads their document and records nothing. It shows every figure it read, each beside the row of their page it came from. Your own lines are listed under it, so you see what each one will read as.
- Before you press, change anything that is wrong. You can say which of your lines a row of theirs answers. Or leave it as a row of theirs that answers none of them.
- It tells you how many of your lines their document never named. Those read as not addressed, which is not the same as scheduled at nothing. The card says so.
- If their document had no total, the assistant asks you for the figure their schedule states. It does not add their lines up. That would give a different number: a line is certified before GST and before retention, and the amount they pay is neither.
- Press Record it against this claim. It goes in through the same route the Financials tab uses. The receipt links you to the reconciliation.
Worth knowing
The assistant does not tell you the shortfall, when their answer was due, or what your Act lets you do about it. Those are on the Financials tab, under Where this claim stands, with the section of your state Act beside every date. YourCA derives them from your contract and your jurisdiction, with their citations. A conversation is the wrong place to state one without them. Nothing here sends anything to your builder. YourCA does not transmit a claim, a declaration or a certificate anywhere, from the assistant or any other screen.
