What is the sandbox job?

1. It is a made up job with a contract already read, claims already made, hold points signed and a crew on it. So you can look at a finished job before you have one.
2. YourCA never opens it for you. On an account with no jobs, the Dash shows what your business still has to set up. Press Open the practice job, under Have a look around first. So the job you look at is always one you asked for. It is also in the job switcher.
3. It never spends a job credit and is never billed. Nothing you do on it shows in your reports, your crew list or your invoice.
4. YourCA refuses four things on it, and each one says so when you press it. It does not read a contract, extract a document or read a builder programme there. Each of those has a real cost, and the reading is already on screen.
5. It also gives the job no forwarding address, because a real email from a real builder must never land in made up data.
6. Every document you print from it says SAMPLE: NOT A GENUINE DOCUMENT on its face, and the downloaded file name matches. That covers all of them: your prestart pack, a safe work method statement, the diary extract, an inspection record, a report, the handover pack and every document from the contract review.
7. If you made a mess of it, press Reset it for a fresh copy.
8. Put it away deletes it and takes it off your job list. You can bring it back from the switcher at any time.
9. Both controls are on the job itself, and only for an owner or an office administrator. Either one throws away what somebody else may be part way through.
10. Start your own job is on the same row. Use it to move from the practice job to a real one. It opens the same sheet the job switcher opens. The practice job stays until you put it away.
11. The crew, the insurance policies, the company documents and the one safe work method standard on it are also made up. So they stay on the practice job. They are not in your crew list, insurance register, company library or standards library. A real job is never counted as covered by one of them.
12. The standard is there to show what happens when you start a statement from one. You cannot pick it on a job of your own.
13. The practice job leaves facts about your BUSINESS alone: what you pay an hour, what your merchants charge you, the pay periods you approved, your inspection template library and the notice your crew was given. Those are yours, and the practice job invents none of them. So its Pay section shows your own pay runs, not made up ones.
