How YourCA works, step by step.

What is a reference date?

  1. Most subcontracts set it as a day of the month, often the twenty fifth or the last day.
  2. If the contract says nothing, the Act in your state gives one.
  3. If you claim before the reference date, the claim can be rejected on that technical point, and nobody looks at the work in it.
  4. In YourCA, the claim day is read from your own contract. It shows with the clause and the words it came from.
  5. If the contract is not read yet, the claim day stays blank and says so. YourCA does not guess it.
  6. Your claim day is one of the six commercial terms.
  7. If your contract really does not say, record it on the Contract tab under Your commercial terms. YourCA marks your answer as yours, not as the contract's.
