How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I set the income account for every job?

What it does today

Connecting Xero and MYOB is not open yet, so the pencil is not on the row today. Retention is still worked out and claimed on Financials, Retention, as usual.

  1. Connecting Xero and MYOB is not open yet, so none of this happens today. The steps below are what happens when it opens.
  2. Open Company admin from your account menu, then Company, then Connections. Only an office administrator sees it.
  3. On the connected row, press the pencil, Edit Xero settings for claims (or MYOB). The sheet reads its lists from your own books.
  4. Pick the income account, the tax code for GST (MYOB also asks the code with no GST), and Invoice lines: Every claim line, or One line for the claim total.
  5. Pick a Retention account if you keep retention apart. Retention held and released then goes there. Left blank, it goes to the job's income account.
  6. Press Save. Every new job starts with these. A job can still change its own on the Xero or MYOB card of a claim.
Worth knowing

A change applies to the next claim. A document already in your books stays as it went, so fix an old one in Xero or MYOB yourself.
