How YourCA works, step by step.

Where do I record fire seal penetrations?

  1. On site, open the job, then Site, then ITPs, then Fire seals. It is with your inspection points because sealing a penetration is an inspection point: you sign it at the seal.
  2. You are on a ladder, so YourCA asks for four things only: the mark on the wall, the level, where it is and what goes through it. Take the photo before you press record. A penetration is closed up minutes after you seal it.
  3. At the office, open the fire seals certificate on Handover, under What your trade signs. The schedule and the scope are both inside it, because both go out attached to that certificate.
  4. A certifier checks five things: the reference, the sealing product, the element it goes through, the fire resistance level and the test report number. YourCA names a row that is missing any of them. That row blocks the certificate until you answer it.
  5. The last three come from a data sheet, so fill them in at the office, not on the ladder.
  6. The reference must be unique on the job. If a reference is already taken, YourCA names it. It does not make a second row that claims the same seal.
  7. Write the part of the building the certificate covers in the field above the schedule. YourCA never fills in this field, because it decides how much of the building your signature covers.
  8. YourCA saves both against the job when you write them. What you enter at the office shows on the site tablet, and for anybody else in your business who opens the same job.
  9. To correct a row, press the cell and change it. Remove a row you typed against the wrong job. The blockers on the certificate come from the rows, so when you clear the last short row, the blocker clears.
  10. For a short time Fire seals was a section of its own on the Site tab. It is not one now. It is inside ITPs, on every job and for every trade.
  11. If you cannot see ITPs at all, the ITPs switch on your role under Company admin is off. Only an administrator in your business can turn it back on.
