How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I say it instead of typing it?

  1. On a phone, hold the plus in the middle of the bar at the bottom while you talk, and let go when you are done. A tap still opens Record something as it always has.
  2. The words are turned into text on your phone by its own speech recognition. No recording leaves the phone and nothing is sent anywhere while you hold.
  3. What was heard is shown first, in a box you can fix, under What you said. A misheard grid reference is corrected there before anything is read or written.
  4. Press Ask YourCA what this is and it reads the sentence the way it reads a forwarded email: it says whether it is a direction, a delay or a diary line, and shows the words it read that from. Where it cannot tell, it says so and picks nothing.
  5. Pick what it is. A direction opens the same sheet the plus opens, with the words in it and the notice clock explained. A delay opens the delay form on the day in front on the diary. A diary line lands in the diary box. Nothing is on the record until you press to record it there.
  6. Where your phone has no speech recognition, holding does nothing and the typed field stands. YourCA never draws a control that does not work.
  7. On the demonstration account, Hear a site direction on the diary, and beside Ask YourCA what this is, says one stored sentence and reads it, so a laptop with no microphone still shows the reading. The demonstration reads no other words.
Worth knowing

Say the grid reference and who said it. Those two are what the direction has to carry, and the easiest two to leave out.
