How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I see all my emails at once?

  1. Open any job, go to Documents and choose Correspondence. The switcher, with this job's name and All projects, is at the start of the band across the top of that section, on a phone and on a desk.
  2. Press All projects, and Correspondence becomes your in tray. Nothing else on the tab moves. The drawing register, the questions and the submittals stay on the job you are on.
  3. It is grouped by builder, not by job, on purpose. One phone call to Barrenjoey deals with their three emails, whether they are about one site or three. So the grouping matches how you do the work.
  4. If it grouped by job, it would repeat the single job tab, which the switcher already gives you.
  5. A builder is grouped under their email domain, the part after the at sign. That is what YourCA actually knows from an email address.
  6. It never invents a company name, because an address does not carry one. A plain heading is better than a heading nobody can check.
  7. Their people are only grouped together after somebody on your account presses I know this sender on one address at that business.
  8. Until then, each address stands alone. Anyone can type anything into a From line, and a stranger must never appear under a builder you deal with.
  9. Every row says which job it is on. You need that fact before the subject means anything: a payment schedule only matters when you know which contract it is against.
  10. Deal with anything from here exactly as you would on the job. Press it, and the same panel opens, filled in from what YourCA read. Everything it writes goes to the job of that email, wherever the switcher points.
  11. Emails from an address that nobody said they know keep their own group across every job. YourCA still does not read them until you press. Junk sent to an address that got somewhere you did not want costs nothing.
Worth knowing

Only what is WAITING is here. Everything ever sent to a job stays on that job, because that is where you look for it a year later. The drawing register, the questions and the submittals are kept by job for the same reason. The practice job is left out too, so a sample never sits beside your real work.
