How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I raise an NCR?

  1. No button writes one from nothing, on purpose. A finding with no failed point under it is somebody's opinion. It is the first thing anybody attacks later.
  2. Open the inspection point on Site. Record what you actually measured, and sign it.
  3. If the reading is outside what the plan accepts, the point fails. YourCA raises the non conformance immediately.
  4. It gets its own number on this job. It shows the acceptance range it missed and the reading that missed it.
  5. If a HOLD point fails, it raises a major non conformance, because a hold point stops the work. Any other point raises a minor one, and you can change that while it is open.
  6. The point keeps its own reading and its own history. The non conformance is the item you close out.
  7. Find it under Site, then ITPs, then Non-conformances. It shows what it waits on and the date by which it must be put right.
  8. Filter on the band narrows that list to Still open or Closed out, to one severity, or to the ones past their put-right date.
  9. Open it and press Close it out. Add what you did and photographs of the fix.
  10. It does not close with an empty corrective action, or with nothing attached.
  11. Wait until the photo finishes attaching before you press. Then the close out carries the picture, not a reference to one.
  12. Download it. You get one file on your letterhead with the finding, its number, its source, the corrective action, the close out date and the evidence that closed it.
  13. You send it. YourCA never sends anything for you.
Worth knowing

An open one downloads as open, and says so on its face. A report that shows closed when the record says open is worse than no report. Nobody edits a closed one later. If a fix did not hold, that is a new non conformance, not a reopened one.
