How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I annotate a drawing?

  1. Open Documents, then Drawings, then press the drawing. Annotate is beside Add a mark. On a phone it is the pen glyph in the tool row.
  2. Press Annotate. The copy opens at the sheet you were on. A second copy of the same drawing is numbered: Annotated 2, Annotated 3.
  3. Draw with the same tools as the Tender walk: select, pen, highlighter, note, callout, cloud, eraser and measure, in the one colour chart. What you draw saves as you go.
  4. Pick a mark, then press "..." on it. Make an RFI from this opens the RFI form already filled in: the words of the mark, the drawing in What it is about, and a picture of the marked area attached. Check it and press Add. The mark then shows the RFI number.
  5. Add a comment keeps what was checked, who was asked and what was agreed under the mark, with your name and the date. Copy the words copies the mark’s text. The bin removes the mark.
  6. The copy is a row under its drawing on Drawings, with the Annotated chip. Everyone on the job team can open it.
  7. Download on the copy gives it as a PDF or a Word file, with your marks on it. More, the "...", has Edit the name and Remove this copy.
Worth knowing

Annotate is offered on a drawing opened from Drawings, not from other places a drawing opens. Nothing drawn on a copy reaches the Tender walk or the Takeoff, and removing a copy never touches the drawing as issued.
