How do I file a new drawing pack?
- Open Documents, then Drawings, and drop the files the builder sent: one PDF, or one PDF a sheet.
- Give the day it arrived, tick the transmittal if one came with it, and press File the pack.
- YourCA reads each sheet's number, title, Rev and status off its title block, and the date printed on it when every sheet carries the same one. Type a date on the sheet and yours wins.
- The new pack replaces the current pack it shares the most sheet numbers with. An architectural set replaces the architectural set and leaves the structural set alone. A pack that shares no number stands beside the others.
- A sheet at the same Rev files as reissued, unchanged. A sheet whose Rev reads earlier than the current one files behind it, and the later one stays current.
- A sheet the new pack leaves out stays current, as its own row under Drawings with a grey chip naming the pack it came from, until a later pack carries it.
- The pack is named from what it says, such as IFC, 7 Aug 2026. If another current pack already has that name, its set number is added, such as IFC, 7 Aug 2026, Set 2. Its pencil edits the name.
- A tender set only replaces a tender set, and a site set only a site set. Tender docs filed with the same sheet numbers as the set you build to stand beside it and never take it over.
- The pack is one row inside the Drawings heading. Press it to see its sheets, each with a chip saying what this pack did to it: Revised, Added or Unchanged. The pack's History glyph lists every earlier pack. Open one to see its sheets as they were, so the tender pack you priced from is one press away.
- A sheet whose status says IFC while the sheet also says Not for construction or Preliminary gets the amber chip Status unclear, and a notice above the list offers Draft an RFI with the sheet numbers filled in. It never stops you filing, opening or claiming.
- If a sheet was read wrong, press the pencil on its row and correct the number, Rev or title. What you type wins over any later reading.
- Zones on Locations and the claim plan move to the same sheet number on the new pack. Pins stay on the sheet they were dropped on.
Worth knowing
Nothing is deleted. An old pack is the record of what site built to, and when the next one arrived.
