How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I attach a file to a submittal?

  1. Use Log a submittal on the Submittals section of the Documents tab.
  2. At the bottom of the form, Attach what you are sending takes the drawing, the sample sheet or the data sheet. That is the copy that went to the builder.
  3. When they rule on it, Record their response has Attach what came back. Put the marked-up copy there. It is the evidence of what they asked you to change.
  4. The record keeps the two halves separate, and neither overwrites the other. So you can open what you sent and what they returned months later.
  5. You can attach up to twenty files to one action, up to 40MB each, one at a time. The form does not save while a file is still uploading.
Worth knowing

A ruling with no words and no file is still a complete record. YourCA does not refuse it, because a refusal would lose a true fact about what they said.
