How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I mark a spot on a drawing?

  1. Open Documents, then Current revisions, then press the drawing. It opens in place, so you stay on the job.
  2. Zoom in before you mark anything. On a phone, pinch with two fingers. On a laptop, press Smaller and Larger. The percentage between them shows the zoom.
  3. A mark is only as good as the spot it is on.
  4. Press Pin a spot. The bar tells you to tap the drawing where it is.
  5. Press the plan. The mark goes there, with the next free number in the circle.
  6. YourCA holds the spot as a fraction of the page, not a position on your screen. So the mark stays on the same brick at every zoom, on a phone in one hand, and on another person's laptop.
  7. The pin opens immediately on a box that asks what you found here.
  8. Write it, add a photograph, or both. Then press Save it.
  9. Each mark on the sheet is a numbered chip in the bar under the drawing. Press the number to open that pin. So on a forty page set, you do not search for a circle.
  10. If a mark is in the wrong place, press Move it, then press where it should go.
  11. Take it off removes the mark and everything said at it.
Worth knowing

Pin a spot shows only on a sheet YourCA can draw on screen. So a Word file or a spreadsheet takes no marks. Open the PDF of the drawing, which is what a builder issues anyway. Pin a spot also does not show if your role cannot write on this job. Then you can read every mark and everything said at it, but you cannot add your own.
