How YourCA works, step by step.

How do I add a photo to a pin?

  1. Press the mark on the drawing, or its number in the bar underneath. The pin opens.
  2. The box at the top asks what you found here. Write a sentence or two, the way you would say it in front of the item.
  3. Take a photo opens the camera for a new shot.
  4. Choose one picks a picture already on the phone, such as the one you took this morning before the wall closed. In both cases, it attaches to the line you are writing.
  5. Press Save it. The line joins the record underneath, oldest first, with the date, the time and your name.
  6. The date and the name come from the server, never from the phone. That makes the line worth something twelve months later, when the argument is about who knew and when.
  7. A line must carry words or a photograph. YourCA refuses an empty line, because a blank line on a pin looks like evidence that somebody looked.
  8. A photograph on a pin is a normal site photo and uploads the same way as every other one.
  9. So YourCA removes the camera location and serial number from the file before it stores it.
Worth knowing

Nobody edits a line. To correct it, write a new line. The first line stays underneath with its own date. Inspection responses work the same way, and that is why the record still holds up in a year. The cross on a line removes the whole line. That is the only thing that removes anything.
