How do I see everything in one room?
- Open Locations on the Site tab. The drawing is across the top and the zones are a table under it, with how many inspection points, defects, incidents, other records and photos sit inside each one. The drawing list above the plan picks one drawing, so you see one floor or one ceiling plan at a time. The table shows the zones on the drawing in view; Filter, Drawing, shows every zone.
- To add one, press Draw a zone. It opens on the drawing you picked, or pick one there. Drag across the room. To follow an odd shape, pick Polygon under How to draw it, then press each corner.
- Give the zone a name, such as Plant room, and press Save it.
- Press a zone. The plan above turns to its drawing, with each pin as a numbered mark, and its row opens with everything pinned inside it listed under it. Each thing in the list, and each photo, carries the number of its pin. Point at a row to light its pin on the drawing, or press a pin to light its row.
- Press a thing in the list to open it in its own register. The zone photos show as a strip under the list. Press one to open it in Photos.
- To change where a thing stands, press its state at the right of its row. An inspection point offers Sign it off, which opens the same sign-off sheet as ITPs, with the result, photos and signature. An open incident offers Close it, which asks what changes so it does not happen again, and Mark as recorded in error, which asks why. A closed incident offers Reopen it. A state with no arrow beside it is changed in its own register.
- Under the list, record something in the zone without picking it again. Add a photo and Add a note are the presses. Add a photo opens a sheet where you choose a photo from this device, or pick one the job already holds under Photos. More holds Start an ITP, Add a defect and Record an incident. A note is a numbered pin in the zone. Start an ITP puts one of your plans in the zone, or opens ITPs to start a new one from a template with every point in the zone. Add a defect and Record an incident open their own list with the zone filled in.
- A record made somewhere else shows here when it has a pin inside the zone, or when its Zone field names it.
- One room is often on more than one drawing, such as the floor plan and the reflected ceiling plan. Open the zone, press More, then Trace on another drawing, pick the drawing and drag across the same room. It stays one zone, and the pins inside it on both drawings list together. The Drawing list above an opened zone picks which of its drawings shows. To take it off one, show that drawing and press More, then Remove from this drawing.
- An opened zone row also has the style row, the same one the Tender walk uses: edge colour from the one colour chart, line weight, solid or dashed, fill and how see-through it is. Each size is one press that opens a list.
- The plan has zoom out, the size and zoom in above it. Pinch, or hold Command or Control with the wheel, to zoom in place, and drag the paper once zoomed.
- Drag the bar between the plan and the table to make the table bigger or smaller. Where you leave it is kept for you.
- The full window press beside them opens the plan and the table over the whole window, and the bar between them still drags. Draw and edit zones there, and drag a pin to move it. Press it again, or Esc, to leave.
- Locations opens on the first plan sheet of the drawing, not its cover.
- The pencil on a zone row edits its name. The bin removes it. No pin and no record is removed with it.
Worth knowing
A zone is the same zone the progress plan uses on a claim. A zone that carries part of a line value is taken off in Financials, on the claim, so no figure moves from here.
